STEM: Design Challenge
Your Challenge is to Design a throw pillow using math equation for Area of a square, rectangle or paralelagram. Constraints: You only get 1/2 yard of fabric. 2. Area must be between 30 in squared-240 in. 2 3. Must demonstrate some 2 handstiching techniques and one DIY design idea of your choice.

Vocabulary for Notes Section
Spool pin: Holds a spool of thread. Pattern selection dial: Allows you to move through the various stitches, decorative stitches and buttonholes. Thread-cutter: located on the left hand side, toward the back of your machine. This is a small covered blade that cuts the thread after you’ve finished sewing.

Contiue taking notes… Handwheel: The large knob on the right side of your machine. Manually raises and lowers the needle. Reverse stitch lever: The machine will sew in reverse while the lever is pushed down. Foot release: lever lifts the presser foot. Needle: A needle pushes the thread through the fabric to form a stitch.**
