November 28th – December 2nd ELA: We will continue our Wondering/Questioning Unit. Our text this week is Brave Irene. We will continue to read various fiction texts to gather ideas to draft our own fiction narratives. Vocabulary: Coax: persuade someone to do something by talking to the person gently and kindly Snug: comfortable, warm, and cozy Advise: tell someone what you think he or she should do Delirious: very happy and excited Fret: worry or get upset about something Cherish: care for something deeply. If you cherish something, you treat it with great care because it is very important to you. Math: Our math skill this week is solving 2 step word problems using addition and subtraction. Announcements We are now collecting children’s mittens for the mitten tree. Thank you in advance for your contribution! Reading Fair boards are due on Dec. 6th. Winners will go to County office to compete. We are collecting box tops. Please contribute if possible. Thanks in advance! Please remember to send a snack with your child each day. ELA: Week 13/14 Voc Quiz on Friday; Unit 4 Comprehension assessment on Friday. Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. Ask your child about what they are reading and what is happening in their book. They love to share their reading knowledge with you! All ELA homework is due on THURSDAY.
