POSSIBLE SCENARIOS FOR TRAINING
CERN, 10th May 2016 Quench Behaviour Team meeting POSSIBLE SCENARIOS FOR TRAINING E. Todesco CERN, Geneva Switzerland Based on production data (thanks to project engineers and SM18 staff) Based on the HC data of 2015 and 2008 (thanks to MP3 teams)

DATA REMINDER: SECTORS
We are discussing the possibility of Powering towards 7 TeV some sectors during EYETS This is essential to have a sample of data that allow to avoid extrapolations of 6.5 TeV behaviour Having a warm up cool down to have more information about memory This would add the experience of another sector For the moment we have 5-6 powered to 6.5 TeV twice 2008 quenches: 23±8 2015 quenches: 16±7 and we have 4-5 powered to 6.0 TeV twice 2008 quenches: 3±6 2015 quenches: 10±6 On this issue it is difficult to have conclusive data, but another sector would be welcome if this does not increase significantly the risk

DATA REMINDER: SECTORS
I think we need two sectors towards 7 TeV As stated in few occasions (LMC , Chamonix) 12 for 1000 and 2000 series behaviour 45 for the second quench of 3000 series

DATA REMINDER: SECTORS
If we could warm up and cool down a sector I would exclude 45 to minimize the number of quenches 12 would give little info on 3000 series 78 early part of production – not significant 23 would be perhaps the most significant Equal share between 3 series 17 quenches for 6.5 TeV this is the overhaed Others (81,67,56,34) would also be ok 56 would give a third point – or better to have another
