Guide to Obtaining a Mailer ID (MID) and Customer Registration ID (CRID) to Participate in the Intelligent Mail Barcode Program

2. Go To

3. Click on “Business Customer Gateway” (bottom right side of website)

4. Click “Sign Up” to Enter New User Information

5. Please note the yellow boxes to the side when creating Username and Password for specifications. Click “continue”.

6. Click “Business” and “Continue”

7. Complete Information (see next slide)

8. Note: No dashes or spaces in the phone or fax number
Note: No dashes or spaces in the phone or fax number. Leave Source Code blank and I recommend that you deselect the boxes at the bottom to avoid unwanted . Click “continue”.

9. Confirmation of Information then Click “Continue”

10. Click “Yes” and “Continue”

11. Click on “Mailer ID” (MID)

12. Note: Select your business location
Note: Select your business location. This is also the screen where your Customer Registration ID (CRID) number is assigned. We will need this number in addition to your actual MID. Hit “Next”.

13. Click “Confirm”

14. There will be two actual checkboxes on this screen (see next slide).

16. Click “Continue”

17. Click on “Mailer ID”

18. Click “Request a MID”

19. Use Drop Down Arrow to find 9-digit “Company Name” – 1 Available

20. Select 9-Digit Option, Enter 1 for # of MIDs Requested and Click “Request MID”

21. Select “Automatically generate this Mailer ID”
Select “Automatically generate this Mailer ID”. Most mail owners will be choosing the Full / Basic Service option (see next slide).

23. Click “Request MIDs”

24. Mailer ID. The MID and the CRID should be provided to your DPC/ULI Account Mgr. who will advise the Mailing Department. Click “Return to Summary”.
