3 TIMELINE Course Selection the first week of February
Select Courses online through Home Access Center– Use your Login and Password Connect Ed call will be made when schedules are available in August Schedule adjustment available until the First Day of School.

4 GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Please note the specific curriculum requirements English – 4cr. (One credit earned each year) Social Studies – 4cr. (Includes US, World, Gov’t, and Economics) Math – 4cr. (Must Include Geometry and Algebra II) Science – 4cr. (Includes Biology & Environmental Science) 1 credit of Agricultural Science can be counted in Science) Well/Fit – 2cr. Tech Ed- .50 cr. (Includes Comp App or Tech) Art cr. Family Consumer Science-.50 cr. Electives –8.5cr. Grand Total = 28 credits including Required Courses

5 VO-TECH GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

FCCTC Shop—Credit total dependent on semesters completed at Career Tech. Grand Total = 28 credits includes Required Courses

7 CORE CURRICULUM Choose courses which reflect your ability to learn, grow and challenge yourself All students have the potential to earn 8 credits each year i.e. 4 years in high school, 8 credits each year = 32 potential credits earned Core Credits not successfully passed in the present year will be rescheduled unless a summer school course credit is earned Career Technology Students may have varying course credit requirements Career Technology students who do not successfully pass all of his/her courses will not be eligible to return to the Career Tech Center the following year and will be rescheduled as a non- Career Technology student

8 ENGLISH Requirements for English 10, 11 and 12
Recommended English Course is pre-loaded onto the student schedules

9 ACADEMIC ENGLISH GRADE 12
All Academic students who are not taking The AP English Literature & Composition course must take: British Literature (.50 credit) AND English Elective (.50 credit) One English Credit must be earned each year to meet the Credit Requirement

10 ENGLISH GRADE 12 All students who are not taking an Academic English are required to take: Contemporary Literature (.50 credit) AND an English Elective (.50 credit) One English Credit must be earned each year to meet the Credit Requirement

11 ENGLISH GRADE 11 Students earning an A/B+ average in Honors Mastering Literature and are Recommended by their English Teacher may choose to take AP English Language and Composition as their 1 credit required Grade 11 English All students who are not taking The AP English Language and Composition course must take American Literature Composition for their 1 Required English 11 credit

12 ENGLISH GRADE 10 Students earning an A/B+ average in Academic Mastering Composition and are Recommended by their 9th Grade English Teacher may choose to take Honors Mastering Literature as their 1 credit required Grade 10 English All other students will take Mastering Literature for their 1 Required English 10 credit

13 MATH Teacher Recommended Math courses are pre-loaded onto student schedules.

15 SCIENCE Choose according to your Preference, your Mathematics Ability, your previous or present Science level.

Ninth Grade—US History/Academic Tenth Grade—World History/Academic or AP World History Eleventh Grade-- Government/Academic Or AP U.S. History

18 12TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES*
12th Grade AP Comparative Government and Politics—(1 Credit) Or Economics– (.50 Credit) All students must have .50 credit of a Social Studies Elective plus Economics to meet their Graduation Requirement *If you have successfully completed one of the following Social Studies Electives as an underclassmen, you only need to take Government your Senior Year.

19 Wellness & Fitness Wellness & Fitness 9 (.50 credit) Wellness & Fitness 10 (.50 Credit) Wellness & Fitness 11 (.50 Credit) Wellness & Fitness 12 (.50 Credit) Electives cannot be used in place of your Wellness & Fitness Credit

20 ELECTIVES You Decide which classes would provide you with dimension and complexity. These courses provide you with not only essential credits, but an opportunity to explore your interests and talents.

22 HOME ACCESS CENTER All Course Selections must be completed under Requests on the student’s Home Access Center. If a course is locked on the request screen and you would like to change this course, please see Guidance. No REPETITION of Courses, if credit was already earned!

23 SCHEDULING ASSISTANCE
You are able to complete your online scheduling both at home and at school. Counselors will be available in Computer Room 20 during Flex.

26 How to Register Online for the SAT.
Friday, Feb. 9th Last Day to Register Online for SASHS SAT on March 10th. Sign in to your free College Board account. Provide your full, legal name and other identifying information. Answer All Questions! Decide whether to sign up for the SAT with Essay. See which colleges recommend or require it. Upload a photo that meets very specific photo requirements. Check out, and print your Admission Ticket. Practice for the SAT by spending time on the College Board Website
