Day 2 in Normandy

2. We start the 10th of September with the beautiful film Arromanches 360
And descend to the rustic village which, in 1944 was buzzing with activity when a huge artificial harbor was built to supply the invasion force.

3. At low tide you can still see some remains.

4. After lunch, the batteries of Longues sur Mer.

6. And a short stop at Omaha Beach

7. Monument to the 1st US Infantry Division

8. Lowering of the flag ceremony by WWII veterans Paul Jackson 501 B Co & Robert Lundy 506 D Co at Colleville US cemetary

11. Beautiful and well done

12. Point du Hoc with it’s tribute to the US Rangers is next

13. Due to erosion it’s is forbidden to get close to the cliff’s edge.

14. There’s enough to see on top of the cliff though.

15. Time for a great dinner on the sea side
Time for a great dinner on the sea side. Going over the magnitude of the day; enjoying great company and good food.
