7 Year 9 Welcome Service at Wimborne Minster Competition Time!
On Friday 18th September at 1.45pm, Year 9 will be taking part in the ‘Welcome Service’ at Wimborne Minster. Last year each House created a scroll on what their year 9’s this year will contribute to the QE family. These scrolls will be presented to the Head Teacher and the Governors at the Welcome ceremony. There were some fantastic entries last year!

8 The Year 9 Welcome Service At Wimborne Minster
Deadline? Each acrostic will need to be typed and sent to Miss Forster (SForster) by Tuesday 15th September at the very latest! What to do? Each set of year 9’s in each tutor group in each house (with some help from the tutor and rest of the group!) needs to put together an acrostic poem of their house name outlining what they will bring to their house and to the QES family. Rewards Finally, the best acrostic poem out of the 5 houses will be awarded a prize of 50 house points to add to that houses grand total. Everyone get involved! Miss Forster will then judge the best one in each house and award 5 house points to each member of that tutor group. What happens next? From all the entries for each house, Miss Forster will then put together 1 acrostic poem to be printed on a scroll for each house, and will be looking for year 9 pupils to take part in presenting the scrolls at the Welcome service – a boy and a girl from each house.
