Sumatra Sumatra is the world’s sixth largest island. Sumatra is also high in plant endemism, plants found no where else in world; such as exotic species like the tallest flower in the world, titan arum.

What do they eat? Sumatran tigers eat a variety of foods such as deer, birds. fish and monkeys.

Habitat The Sumatran tiger is found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra off the Malaysian Peninsula . Their habitat ranges from lowland forest to mountain forest and includes evergreen, swamp and tropical rain forest.

Why they are endangered?
It is estimated that only between Sumatran tigers remain in the wild. A tiger census reported around 1,000 Sumatran tigers still in the wild. This means over the last years, the population of Sumatran tigers has been cut in half.

What people are doing to help the Sumatran tiger
People are putting out website adds. Wildlife rangers are putting poachers in jail for hunting . But despite increased efforts in tiger conservation- including strengthening law enforcement and anti-poaching capacity.
