Vocabulary Exponential Form - A way to write a number or expression in a more compact structure using exponents. Squaring a Number - When you multiply a number by itself. Base Number - A number that is to be raised to a power.

Vocabulary Scientific Notation – Is a shorthand way to write numbers using powers of 10. For example: = 1.73 X 105 Exponent - A number used to indicate how many times to multiply the base by itself. Power - The product obtained by multiplying a number by itself one or more times.
