STANDARDS: UNIT FOUR MGSE6.EE.1. Write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents. Essential Question: How do you write Prime Factorization of a number?
2
Finding Factors for a Number
A prime number is a number with exactly 2 factors, 1 and itself, and a composite number is a number that has more than 2 factors. Whole numbers that are multiplied to find a product are called factors of that product. A number is divisible by its factors. For example, 4 and 2 are factors of 8 because 4 · 2 = 8, and 8 is divisible by 4 and by 2
