UT Surplus Overview All items purchased with state funds must be sent to Surplus Properties for removal from inventory. (Furniture, vehicles, equipment, office supplies, athletics equipment and gear, building materials, etc.) First, attempt to re-use by making items available to university community, ISD and other educational orgs., and Assistance Orgs. Second, sell items via on-line auctions or through retail events. Lastly items are either recycled or landfilled.

Surplus Pressboard Furniture
Desks, bookshelves, tables, modular furniture Volume fluctuates dramatically from approximately 2 tons per month to 10 tons per month. Highest volumes follow long Semesters ( January-February and June - July)

Items to consider Chemicals in the pressboard ( formaldehyde, glue, etc. ) Moisture compatibility Laminates and veneers Quantity of material
