How Can We Increase Pace of Play?
Fast Break—ALL THE TIME Press—ALL THE TIME Give “Green-light” to Shooters Teach LESS patience offensively Teach 12 second shot goal Interesting Result: Your TO% goes down! (You teach players to shoot BEFORE they turn it over!)

How Can We Force More Turnovers?
Press ALL THE TIME… …after MADE shots …after MISSED shots …after REFEREE HANDLES (dead balls) …and even in front court!

Send FOUR to the boards Shoot more 3’s (longer RB’s) Shoot more in Transition (harder to box out)

THE HUMAN FACTOR: Units and Playing Shifts
MAX effort needed to make press work. MAX effort won’t be given by unhappy players. MAX effort after 60 seconds is physically impossible, therefore you must… 1) Play shorter shifts (<60 secs), 2) Play lots of players (12+), and 3) Sub in groups of five (foster group spirit).

It can backfire if implemented for the wrong reasons It can backfire if implemented w/o certain types of players (not necessarily “athletic”) It can backfire if players don’t “Buy in”. It is hard to implement PART of it… …it is a SYSTEM.
