Athletic Philosophy GCASD recognizes the importance of athletics as an integral component in the education process. Athletics teach life skills that help student athletes succeed in their adult lives. Athletics encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, collaboration, discipline, goal setting, time management, and how to win and lose with grace and humility. Athletics allow student athletes to become positive role models in the school and the community. Finally, athletics is a privileged!!! If academics and behavior are not taken seriously, athletics can be taken away!

Athletic Handbook Athletic Eligibility
Last year we followed the PIAA regulation that student athletes had to be passing 4.0 credits. We now have increased the standards in order for a student athlete to be eligible. Must still be passing 4.0 credits (still PIAA regulation) Must have a 2.0 GPA Can only be failing one class If a student athlete is failing two classes, they are ineligible for the week. Eligibility starts every Monday morning and runs until the following Monday morning.
