Founded in 1997

Newsletters developed
Raise awareness at Health Fairs
Telephone number with call-forwarding to people with experience with the disease and various treatment options

6. California Prostate Cancer Coalition, Merel Nissenberg
Founded in 1997, covers a large state
Northern and Southern CA Support Group Leader training sessions conducted, some screening events sponsored too
Advocated for the Prostate cancer IMPACT program run by UCLA
Actively involved with the State Plan, CDOC
Recently completed a new brochure which displays “A Proud Participant in the National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalition” on cover

7. South Carolina Upstate Prostate Cancer Alliance: Johnny Payne
Started in 2000, Prostate cancer workgroup
He is also involved with Us TOO support group and their activities
Many community partnerships
Been doing screenings for 10 plus years, is seeing less turn out
