Careers in IT Computer Programmer: The stepping stone towards a more advanced career in IT. A computer programmer writes code to create software programs, and generally interact with software developers and engineers. Software Developer: Similar to a computer programmer, software developers are the creative minds behind computer programs. Computer Systems Analyst: A computer systems analyst is the glue between business and IT, helping organizations better understand their computer systems needs. Information Security Analyst: As cyberattacks continue to increase, the roles and responsibilities of information security analysts continues to increase as well. Computer Information and Research Scientist: Many of these jobs require a Ph.D., as they deal with solving highly complex problems in the fields business, medicine, science, and others.

Careers in IT An information technology (IT) auditor performs in-depth analysis to monitor the performance of specific technological functions designated by management. To perform the audit, they must apply sound methodology to gather evidential data. After gathering data that is pertinent to the function or area, the auditor then analyzes the data to form an objective opinion pertaining to the effectiveness, efficiency, and adequacy of the internal controls of the activity being reviewed.

Work with departments to increase compliance, manage risk, and improve overall effectiveness. Document findings and recommendations, as well as current processes and procedures. Plan, execute, and lead audits across the organization to evaluate risks and risk management.
