Justin Bieber was born on 1 March 1994 in London, Ontario, Canada at St. Joseph's Hospital and grew up in Stratford, Ontario. As a child, he is interested in hockey, football, chess and music. His father is Jeremy Bieber, and his mother is Patti Melet. The singer's parents have never been married. Patty grows her son with the help of her mother and her husband. Patti is of French-Canadian origin, and the singer's grandfather has German, English and Irish roots. On the part of her father, Justin has a younger brother, Jackson, and a younger sister, Jasmine. Patty works in low paid places, raising her son as a lone mother in low-income housing.

His mother uploads the video to YouTube so family and friends can see it. She continues to upload his clips in which she covers various songs and the boy's popularity grows.

Bieber's music is pop style includes elements of R & B. Jodie Rosen of Rolling Stone magazine says the singer's music "offers a gentle introduction to the mysteries and heartache of the youth: the songs are full of romance but mostly filled with sex."Bieber cites the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Boyz II Men and Usher as their musical inspiration. Justin said the My World 2.0 album was influenced by Timberlake.
