Measure It! To find the volume of a solid using a graduated cylinder, you must measure and use math. First find the volume of the water in the graduated cylinder. Then add the solid. Measure the volume again. Subtract the volume of the water alone from the volume of the water and the object. The volume of a solid is measured in cubic centimeters.
