Step 1: Read the paragraph. Step 2: Select a phrase that has strong meaning for you (positive or negative). Write it on a Post-it note. Step 3: Select a word that has strong meaning for you. Write it on a Post-it note.

Step 4: Assemble all phrases in one column and all words in another column. Step 5: Each person reads his/her phrase and explains personal significance of it. Step 6: Each person reads his/her word and explains personal significance of it. Step 7: What stood out in your group’s sharing? Any patterns? Important differences?

Four ‘A’s Protocol Read article. As you read, take notes on the 4 “A”s
What Assumptions does the author of the text hold? What do you Agree with in the text? What do you want to Argue with in the text? What parts of the text do you want to Aspire to?

Four ‘A’s Protocol With your group:
Each person takes a turn to share one assumption in the text. After everyone has shared, go around the circle again. Each person shares something they agree with in the text. Do the same with “argue”. Whole group discussion.

Tuning Protocol Person A meets with Team (or Person B)
7 min – Person A shares plan (or one part of it) 3 min – Team (or Person B) asks clarifying questions 5 min – Team (or Person B) offers warm/cool feedback Switch roles. Repeat the protocol.

Tuning Protocol (Follow-up)
Share what you learned with your team. Make a chart of warm and cool feedback. Make a chart of insights from other people’s plans.
