Essential for those important relationships with work colleagues You will learn the art of debating Expressing a clear opinion and supporting it with relevant information

The total number of history graduates rose by 65% from 3177 in 1989 to 5248 in By 2009, the total had reached 9800, an increase of nearly 87%. 54% in 1998 in employment, dropped to 47% during the 2011 recession but this was significantly less than all other subjects. At this time 32% of graduates were pursuing some form of further education.

Retail, Catering, Waiting and Bar Staff 23.0% Other Occupations 17.9%: Personal trainer

10 History Careers Architect City Financiers and Merchant Banks
Local architects, JSA, recommend History as an A Level to support the ability to write detailed and evaluative reports. City Financiers and Merchant Banks Prize History highly as a subject that enables employees and fund managers to converse with clients so that they can build an effective rapport with them

11 History Careers Medical Schools like their prospective undergraduates and trainees to have studied a subject beyond the disciplines of Maths & Science to demonstrate their all round abilities. History of Politics is highly recommended

12 History Careers The Foreign & Diplomatic Service of the UK Government often seek students who have studied History because this proves that they are able to synthesise lots of information and produce evaluative written responses.
