Aims of Evening To raise awareness of school values and ethos
To inform parents about the curriculum and the 5 entitlements for all To provide an opportunity to meet some staff who are leading learning in these 5 areas of the curriculum

Curriculum is organised into 8 Curriculum Areas: Mathematics Languages (English & Modern Language) Religious and Moral Education (RME) - Core Health & Wellbeing (PE & PSE) - Core Science Social Studies Expressive Arts Technologies

These 5 Areas are Entitlements for ALL
Curriculum in S1 & S2 Pupils experience a curriculum covering 8 Curriculum Areas These 8 areas spread over 16 subjects in S1 and 18 subjects in S2 Curriculum has been designed around level 3 Experiences and Outcomes Teachers in each subject have responsibility to embed Literacy, Numeracy, Health and Wellbeing, Digital Skills, Skills for Work (Developing The Young Workforce – DYW) These 5 Areas are Entitlements for ALL

Settling In Interviews/Survey
All young people meet with PT PS/ DHT in first term. A survey was held to capture how they felt about their transition Headlines Almost everyone said they enjoyed being at secondary school Liked meeting new people Like having more subjects/different teachers and moving between classes Like 50 minutes per lesson/ find their learning interesting/fun challenging Like more freedom/responsibility Food
