X Your annotations show that you have a good understanding of the technical requirements when using a DSLR camera. 1.2 Apply media processes and skills safely and appropriately.  You have shown that you can apply media processes safely and your final outcomes are of a satisfactory standard. 2.1 Critically compare a range of communication methods used to convey meaning in creative media production.  Your annotations show that you have some understanding of how images can be used to convey meaning in photojournalism. Unit 2: Introduction to design and research skills in creative media production Assessor: Shelina Mawani-Markin Assessment & Grading Recording Sheet To achieve a Pass grade the learner must achieve all of the following criteria; Student name: Charlotte Leeson Assessment Criteria for PASS R= Referral, S = satisfactory, HS = High Standard, VHS = Very High Standard R S HS VHS Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral 1.1 Critically compare a range of research tools, methods and skills.         x Charlotte, you have discussed the topic very well. Your introductory paragraphs are excellent in terms of setting the context for research I.e. the purpose, importance of audience profiling, etc. You have evaluated tools, research methods and skills required for journalism discussing both advantages and disadvantages. You have included a detailed discussion of multimedia skills e.g. podcasts, online video, interactivity, etc.  2.1 Critically compare a range of primary and secondary research sources. As above 3.1 Apply design and research tools, methods and skills to record and interpret information and develop ideas for creative production.  Research portfolio is thorough Charlotte. You have included evidence of having conducted primary and secondary research for your interactive poster. Next time, I would like you to include more interpretation of your results and some thoughts on how the findings are progressing your project. 3.2 Evaluate the effectiveness of design and research tools methods and skills.  Your evaluation is very good as you have highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of your research planning an execution. You have suggested ways in which you have improved but you could just expand a little more on this. For example, could you have benefited from using focus groups, or from interviewing customers at the venue? You could try to suggest ways of improving your secondary research, for example, maybe you could have researched similar posters to i8dentify the type of content you could include. Unit 3: Introduction to professional practice in creative media production Assessor: Tracy Mitchell / Shelina Mawani-Markin Assessment & Grading Recording Sheet To achieve a Pass grade the learner must achieve all of the following criteria; Student name: Charlotte Leeson Assessment Criteria for PASS R= Referral, S = satisfactory, HS = High Standard, VHS = Very High Standard R S HS VHS Summary of Evidence/Reason for Referral 1.1 Locate, access and use information to support own development. x You have sourced stories, conducted interviews and researched a job role in the media industry to a high standard, well done. Critically evaluate a range of working practices and methods. You have demonstrated an excellent understanding of journalistic theory Charlotte, and have evaluated your application of the theory very well. Well done. There are some grammatical errors in your writing about your photojournalism piece, Just take care to avoid that. Also, you say that you found this difficult because you don't know many interesting people. Remember that, as a journalist, you should be aware that everyone has a n interesting story to tell. There are interesting people around you all the time.  2.1  Apply knowledge of working practices to support own development See feedback on your portfolio submissions on Wordpress 3.1 Organise self and work to meet deadlines and targets. You continually worked in a manner that enabled you to meet deadlines – an essential skill for a journalist. 3.2 . Demonstrate consideration and professionalism in working with others.
