6 SJSU Cares Students facing economic crisis at SJSU should be referred to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office: In a 2014 “Student Food Access Survey” of 4972 SJSU respondents, 39% indicated they had sometimes or often not eaten because they didn’t have money for food % of respondents indicated they had cut the size of meals or skipped a meal due to lack of money for food. And 20.9% of respondents indicated they had not eaten for a whole day due to lack of money for food (Attachment A). 10% of CSU students indicated they were homeless in a recent survey Assistance form available at sjsu.edu/sjsucares
