Who am I? My parents were Jewish, presumably strict Pharisees
I started training to be a Rabbi at age 14 I was a trained tent maker I was a man of firm convictions I had a very active missionary I also had a history of violence I spent quite a bit of time in jail I wrote more books in the New Testament than anyone else I was from the city Tarsus I had a supernatural encounter with God and converted to Christianity

Who am I? I was a Levite from Cyprus
I was a very generous man who gave money to the apostles I was known for my humility and loyalty I was a well known evangelist I believed in Paul when no one else did My name means “son of encouragement”

Who am I I was from the town of Lystra
My father was Greek and my mother was Jewish My grandmother’s name was Lois and my mother’s name was Eunice I co-authored several books in the New Testament My ministry began when he was only a teenager I was imprisoned for his faith My name means “honoring God” I accompanied Paul on many missionary trips I led countless people to the knowledge of Christ I was Paul’s protégé

Acts 9:26-27 “When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.”

What is mentoring? Mentoring refers to a process where a person with a serving, giving, encouraging attitude, the mentor, sees leadership potential in a still- to-be developed person, the protégé, and is able to promote or otherwise significantly influence the protégé along in the realization of potential.

What do mentors do? They give timely advice
They give resources (books, articles, finances) They model by example They pray They provide opportunities for the protégé to practice their spiritual gifts They encourage and help They risk their own reputation by backing the protégé They co-minister so that the protégé can learn They promote the protégé to grow beyond themselves
