The Sons of Issacar Dr. David Roadcup
2
1 Chronicles 12:32 “Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.”

We understand God is behind all church growth
1 Cor. 3: What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.
5
We understand & can clearly state our purpose
A good definition of purpose: “The overriding focus and goal to be obtained. “A clear, shared sense of purpose or vision which every individual from the leaders to the rank and file felt responsible for achieving as a member of the team.” -- Peters and Waterman, Search For Excellence
6
(continued) “Nothing precedes purpose.” –Rick Warren
“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” Key Question – Have we really internalized the Lord’s purpose for the church?
7
We win the lost! Jesus our Lord – “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Charles Spurgeon - "If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for."
8
Nurture the saved! Col. 1:28-29 – “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”
