NHS Wyre Forest NHS M81015 In 2015 we secured funding from the local council for Digital Inclusion. This allowed us to purchase a laptop, projector and screen. Members of our team were trained as “digital champions” and they set-up the laptop within the reception area and using a dummy patient were able to demonstrate the benefits of online access. We also produced our own guides. We came to realise quite quickly that more education on registering and using online access was required so we offered sessions for up to 10 people at a time. During these sessions we went through the whole process answering any questions and finally if they wanted to register they could do so by using the laptop. Our staff are always very patient and supportive to patients who are experiencing difficulties. If the issues cannot be sorted over the phone (most can) time is booked with a member of staff to offer support. Our patients have the ability to book routine appointments up to 8 weeks in advance.
