When a noun or pronoun ends in a (s) add an apostrophe to make it possessive.
Example: Carlos -> Carlos’ pen is here. When a noun or pronoun ends in anything but a (s) then add an apostrophe (s) to make it possessive. Example: Michael -> Michael’s pen is here. When you don’t want to make a noun or pronoun possessive just add an (s) without an apostrophe. Example: room -> All the rooms had a TV.
