I hope you all have a wonderful half-term.
Newsletter Reception Class 27th May 2016 Literacy This week we have been making and tasting our own soup. This idea came from reading Oliver’s Vegetables. We have all really enjoyed exploring the taste of different vegetables. We have also been writing a list of the different vegetables that we have used and have written a small review of the soup that we made. I have been really impressed by the quality of work produced this week, well done! This week we have been reading the story Oliver’s Vegetables by Vivian French. We have been talking about how to grow our own vegetables and about healthy eating. We have also been learning about the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We have been making and painting our own fruit faces. It was also moving up afternoon on Friday. Everyone really enjoyed going into Miss Fryers class and into Year 1. You have all worked very hard, this half term, I am very proud of all the progress that you have all made, well done! Phonics Miss Browns Group: We have been looking at phase four cluster sounds, fl,bl,pl and gl. We have been reading cvcc and ccvc words. Mrs Fakirova and Mrs Randalls Group: Have been consolidating phase 3 sounds and tricky words. Maths This week we have been weighing and measuring different vegetables. We have been looking at using cm to measure the length of different Notices Everyone has worked very hard this half term and I think everyone has earned a well deserved break so therefore, there is no homework. However, next half term our topics will be under the sea and the jungle so if you would like to talk about these topics with your child that would be fantastic;.
