2. Who uses an ASP?
Owners/operators required to have security plans under 104, 105 and 106
May use an ASP that has been reviewed & approved by the Commandant as meeting the requirements of part 104, 105 and 106

3. Contacting ASP
Owners/operators implementing ASP must send letter to appropriate plan approval authority stating: -which ASP they have implemented -identifying those vessels/facilities that will implement the ASP -attesting that they are in full compliance

4. Requirements of owners/operators
Copy of letter kept onboard vessel or at facility
copy of ASP and
a vessel, facility, or Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) facility specific assessment report generated under the ASP

5. Inspections
Owners/operators shall make available to Coast Guard, upon request, any information related to implementation of an approved ASP

6. Approval of ASP
Submit to Commandant for review and approval ASP with the following:
List of vessel & facility type
Security assessment
Explanation how ASP addresses requirements of parts 104, 105 or 106
Explanation of ASP implementation

7. Amendments to ASP Initiated by submitter or Coast Guard
Submitter = send in 30 days before amendment to take affect
CG = give written notice & request, 60 days to submit amendments

8. Validity of ASP Valid for 5 years from date of approval
Commandant examines and:
Approves ASP, specify conditions of approval
Returns ASP for revision
Disapproves ASP, return a copy to submitter with reasons for disapproval
