4 What kinds of teams have you worked with in the past?
You and your team Describe some projects or ideas that were done successfully as part of a team effort. What kinds of teams have you worked with in the past? Do you prefer working in a team or by yourself? What don´t you like about teamwork? Click the mouse to bring up the questions one by one. Have students work in pairs and give them +/- 2 min to discuss each of the questions as they appear on the board. Have a brief class feedback. +/-10 min Who is the best person you’ve ever worked with? Who is the worst? Explain why. Have you ever been a team leader? If so, describe your role as a team leader.

6 The benefits of teamwork
Increased efficiency When working in a team, you are working towards a common long- term goal or set of objectives. Idea generation   One of the greatest benefits of working in a team is the inspiration and ideas that can result from team brainstorming sessions. A learning experience   It brings people together from different backgrounds and levels of experience. Consequently, projects which involve teamwork serve also as an opportunity for professional development and learning. Have students work in small groups and brainstorm the benefits of teamwork. 7 Enhanced communication
Communication is key to the success of many projects – so why not engage in an activity that can help enhance your communication skills? Activities such as meeting together to discuss ideas require both verbal and written communication skills. Share the workload When working in a team towards a common goal, the workload is shared among all team members. Support network It is important to remember that support and a sense of belonging in a workplace can contribute greatly to job satisfaction. What do you think?
