When you have a sentence that looks like this, we have leftovers. The employee told her boss a bold lie. Indirect Object Direct Object Direct Object: Receives the verb. (What is being told? What is being thrown?) Gary wrote a play. Jim gave George a gift. Indirect Object: Receives the direct object. (That object went to who/what?) Candice threw Amy the ball. What are these??
