2 Basic terms to know: Parallel: Two lines that are side by side but never intersect Angle: the measurement between two lines that intersect Adjacent: next to

3 What is a quadrilateral?
A quadrilateral is a four-sided shape

4 What is a parallelogram?
A parallelogram is a quadrilateral who’s opposite sides are parallel (ex: rectangle, rhombus, square)

5 A square is a parallelogram with all equal sides and all right angles
What is a square? A square is a parallelogram with all equal sides and all right angles

6 What is a rectangle? A rectangle is a parallelogram with all right angles but not all equal sides

7 What is a rhombus? A rhombus is a parallelogram with all equal sides and equal opposite angles

8 What is a trapezoid? A trapezoid is a shape with two parallel sides and two non-parallel sides
