As you could imagine, these were not successful! But GoFundMe has raised funds for victims of terrorists attacks, has helped athletes go to the Olympics, and has kept college doors open. Having a cause gives people a purpose in life—at least for a while. The disciples of Jesus, on the other hand, were enlisted in a cause that gave them eternal purpose.
