Type-Triggered Automated Processing (T-TAP)
How would it work (for climate)? Ensure PIDs are attached to input/output/helpers Describe our types Bind services to types Tune services to make use of typing information Evaluate along practical cases -
3
Pathway for climate data processing services
Multiple upcoming angles for attaching a DT solution: CMIP6 data Handles, Handle records, potential PID Kernel Information profile Same solution also spreading to other community projects (obs4mips, CORDEX) Climate Analytics Service (ECAS) (DKRZ/CMCC) server-side data processing with PID support embedded into EOSChub, starting 2018 data sources: see above Copernicus data services Starting with a few, but clearly defined processing services (regridding, downscaling of CORDEX data) Advantage: small, limited area; could do prototype and pre-production Transfer PIDs and processing aspects iteratively into Copernicus data store -

Typing angles a) Service typing automated discovery or at least verification b) Data input and output typing (coarse) to distinguish the data sources and help with management c) Typing of data internals (fine) traditional DTR: enable machines to understand meaning of data -
