1 Basic computer equipment, programs and burning CD’s

2 Introduction Today, each and every one of us makes use of a computer for some reason or the other. Before we begin with any computer hardware tutorials, let us first have a look at what the underlying hardware structure comprises, through the following computer parts list: Random access memory (RAM) Processor Network card, video card, sound card CD-ROM drive Power supply USB port Motherboard Monitor Keyboard and mouse.

5 Hardware Your PC (Personal Computer) is a system, consisting of many components. Some of those components, like Windows XP, and all your other programs, are software. The stuff you can actually see and touch, and would likely break if you threw it out a fifth-story window, is hardware.

6 Software Software is the general term for information that's recorded onto some kind of medium. For example, when you go to the video store and rent or buy a tape or DVD, what you're really getting is the software that's stored on that tape or disk. Your VCR or DVD player are hardware devices that are capable of reading the software from a tape or disk and projecting it onto your TV screen, in the form of a movie.

Depending on which operating system you use, there are various tools that can help you create a CD from a digital image. As a minimum, you will need: A drive capable of burning CDs A blank CD A functioning operating system that can see the CD burner Software that is capable of burning CDs.
