7 During Appeal: Strategies for Success
Encouragement from Pastor, Pastoral Leaders during Mass for several weekends Lay Witness Testimony Catechist, Deacon, couple who attended Marriage Prep or NFP classes, volunteer for CDA-funded charity, any staff or volunteer attending Diocesan class or training, Parish Council Members, Parishioner who has supported CDA Show the Video Invite people to make a gift Thank them for making a gift

Introduction to CDA Pastor, Staff, Pulpit Support = Critical to Success Show Video Walk through completing the pledge cards/online giving/text-to-give Cash, check or pledge only with pledge cards No credit cards or ACH options on paper Credit/Bank Card Gift – online at dphx.org/cda Text-to-Give If you have not yet made a gift, please make one today Thank those who have already made their gift and encourage them NOT to complete a card

9 During Appeal: In-Pew Process
Collect pledge cards – do not co-mingle with regular collection Present/update CDA during Mass multiple weekends: 1) Video, 2) CDA part of homily, 3) Witness Talk On-Going Communications: Bulletin Announcements, Weekly Updates, Intercessions, FlockNote Ongoing visibility… make it easy Thank people for their gifts!

Complete and return a pledge card to the parish 1 Set up a scheduled payment plan or one-time gift online at dphx.org/cda 2 Make a one-time gift by text 3

For the donor who prefers to not register for an account and make a one-time gift: Click red Donate Now button Click blue Give to CDA button, upper right box Complete form to make one-time gift without registering for account

Click red Donate Now button Click blue Log In button, then Register for an Account Once registered, click Give to CDA in the blue menu on the right Click Setup Payment Method, enter in all information, click Save Once it is set up, click Next Verify information and click Finish to complete the gift An will be sent confirming every payment To give on a scheduled basis Choose the frequency Choose the date Enter in Payment Amount To give one-time today Unclick the Scheduled Gift Box Enter in the payment amount Your Information is secure

Will receive a link back to complete payment information One-time gift only but can send multiple texts during the appeal After one gift is made, the system will remember your information All information is highly secured – PCI Compliant

15 After Kickoff: Processing Pledge Cards
No credit card or ACH giving on pledge card Same process as previous years Use black pens Parish Progress Reports are sent out every Tuesday morning through the end of June.

Processing Pledge Cards with Cash Payments No more than 50 cards per parish check Place cards that do not have ID numbers in front of those with ID numbers One bundle with parish check in an individual envelope If there is more than one bundle, put cards with ID numbers together and those without together Parish check must equal the total of “Check Enclosed Today” for each bundle Please do not send any cash in the mail

Processing Loose Cash Total the loose cash Write the total on the pledge card Write the number of donors represented There is no name or any donor id# for this card Put the parish check and the pledge card in an individual envelope Can be one of the 50 cards with 1 parish check Cash bundles should be ordered: Loose cash (no ID number) Cards without ID numbers Cards with ID numbers

22 Payroll Deductions Payroll deductions are now handled through Bswift
Log in to your BSwift account at On the left side menu, click Life Events Select the last choice, “Other life events…” Select Enroll/Change my Charity and Development Appeal (CDA) Contribution For the question, “When did your life event take place?”, enter the current date Enter in your payroll deduction amount which will automatically calculate your annual pledge based on how many pay periods are left in the year. Save the life event enrollment

23 Reporting Feb. 1 Registered Parishioner Report around February 1 Feb. 13 Weekly ed Parish Reports beginning Feb 13 Summary sheet with parish totals and appeal totals (thermometer) Cumulative list of gifts, including donor information and pledge amount/date Excel file for easy sorting
