2. What is Foley?
Foley artists match live sound effects with the action of the picture. The sound effects are laid "manually" and not cut in with film Foley is an excellent means of supplying the subtle sounds that production mikes often miss. The rustling of clothing and a squeak of a saddle when a rider mounts his horse give a scene a touch of realism that is difficult to provide using other effects methods

3. Different Floor Sounds

Running
Walking etc..

Some car sounds
Keys jangling
Knives
Eating

5. Recording Your Own Sound
You should try and position your microphone / recorder about 1 foot away from the subject Think outside the box, sometimes you can create sounds using different objects

6. Your microphone should usually be pointing at the source of the sound
Try to record your sounds with little to no background noise, as any processing done to these clips will effect background noise too.

7. Foley Task You need to record the following Foley sounds
Footsteps on gravel
Footsteps on leaves / mud
Running on a wooden floor
Door closing
Typing
Paper rustling
Keys opening a door
A punch
Eating
Car engine
Someone riding a bike
A busy street with traffic and people
TAKE PHOTOS OF EACH OTHER WHILST YOU’RE OUT RECORDING
