This scale is shown in words Eg. 1cm=10km or 1cm to 15km What does this scale tell you?

This scale consists of a straight line which is divided into segments that represents the distance on the Earth’s surface

This scale is represented by a fraction. Numerator-distance on the map Denominator-distance on the ground The numerator and denominator both have the same unit
