Supporting the analysis of international criminal trials with artificial intelligence and data mining techniques Researchers: Yvonne McDermott Rees (PI, Law); Federico Cerutti (Computer Science, Cardiff University); Chiara Bernardi (Data Mining, University of Stirling); John Stevens (Design, Royal College of Arts) Industry partner: International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia £5k

Dissemination and disruption of online jihadist magazines Researchers: Prof Stuart Macdonald (PI, Law), Co-Is: Prof Nuria Lorenzo-Dus, Language Research Centre, Swansea University, and David Mair, Cyber Threats Intelligence Centre, Swansea University Industry partners: Crime & Security Research Institute, Cardiff University, and the National Digital Exploitation Service (part of National Counter Terrorism Policing HQ) £8.8k

Profiling cybercrime offenders in Wales Researchers: Dr Patrick Bishop (PI, Law), Miss Sara Correia - PhD Candidate, Cybercrime, and Associate Prof Bob Laramee, Data Visualisation, Computer Science Industry collaborators: The Southern Wales Regional Cybercrime Unit "Tarian"), and Gofore UK (formerly Leadin UK) £3.5k

Secondment and International Mobility, each £2k We fund academics to build/strengthen industry collaboration within UK or abroad Escalator funding of upto £15k Industry supports a research led by academics via in-kind contributions Speaking opportunities at UK Digital Economy Crucible Talk about your company vision, engage with and attract outstanding early career researchers
