Major Strategy & Tactics: “Murder in Plain Sight” Recommended Budget Our goal is to build FIRE’s reputation, relationship and presence within the Murfreesboro area to build a solid foundation for them to be able to branch out from and grow.

Research Find out how much the publics already know about FIRE. To know the amount of promotion needed to help FIRE. We wanted to know where FIRE stands as of right now at the core of its support system.

9 Goals and Objectives Reputation Goal: Aura Innovations wants to give FIRE a positive reputation. We will raise awareness to 85% of criminal justice students at MTSU by January 4, 2016. Relationship Goal: Aura Innovations wants to build a relationship with a key public. We will establish FIRE as a credible resource for MT Police by giving pre and post surveys after MT Police have used FIRE’s resources.

10 Goals and Objectives Task Goal: Aura Innovations wants to have an event for local high schools and community partners to educate them on forensic science. We will host an assembly on November 15, and a second assembly on March 7, We will compare the number of attendees for each of the assemblies.

11 Major Strategies Aura Innovations will build a mutually beneficial relationship between FIRE and MT Police. We will bring awareness to MTSU students by using promotional tools. We will contact Rutherford County high schools and community organizations to educate them about FIRE.

12 Major Tactics Host an information table during campus fairs.
Post and hand out flyers on campus during Homecoming and Welcome Week. Participate in the Homecoming parade by building a float. “Forensic Skeletal Recovery Workshop” 10% off Connect with publics by social media posts, using hash tags and hosting events. Hold fundraisers during school semesters such as a bake sale or car wash.

Create community involvement Relay for Life and Alternative Spring Break while wearing FIRE attire for a promotional tool. “Murder in Plain Sight” event. This event will be educational and interactive. Contact local newspapers to create a feature story on events such as “Murder in Plain Sight.”

Aura Innovations (865)   “Murder in Plain Sight” Come witness a replica of a crime scene from a murder investigation MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Forensic Institute for Research and Education is utilizing an outdoor space at Middle Tennessee State University to set up a replica of a crime scene from a murder. Those who come can read about the background leading up to the crime and have the opportunity to try and figure out what the results were. FIRE is hosting this educational event on August 31, 2015-September 1, 2015, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in front of the Student Union building. This display will be open to anyone who is on campus. The goal with this event is to raise awareness about FIRE as a resource for students and law enforcement. The crime scene will be taped off with caution tape and there will be signs indicating what the event is to passersby. There will be presenter there to hand out informational flyers telling the story of the murder and what the results were. The presenter will be knowledgeable of what to look for in a crime scene and answer any questions people have. There will be eerie music playing the background with a speaker to draw attention and create an atmosphere of mystery as well as draw attention for the event.
