3 Introduction to CA Technologies
Also known as Computer Associates International was established by Charles Wang and Russell Artzt in 1976. It is American MNC headquarted at New York City. It is known for providing anti virus and mainframe, distributed computing. We visited CA Technologies on 20/9/2017 along with Prof. Smitha. CA Technologies states that its computer software products are used by "a majority of the Fortune Global 500 companies, government organizations, educational institutions, and thousands of other companies in diverse industries worldwide."

13 Lesson Learnt We learnt about agile methodology and also how the work space of agile looks like. The amazon product Alexa. WE understood and saw the informative work space in CA Technologies. We saw the garage rooms which is used by employees to do innovative work. Video conference room which uses voice detection to zoom in the camera.

14 Conclusion The visit for CA Technologies was ver informative. We learned about the products and servies of the company. The work environment was not the traditional way as CA Technologies follows agile methodology it has informative work space. We also saw Alexa

17 The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a scientific society under the administrative control of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India The setting up of C-DAC in 1988 was to built Supercomputers in context of denial of import of Supercomputers by USA. Almost at the same time, C-DAC started building Indian Language Computing Solutions with setting up of GIST group (Graphics and Intelligence based Script Technology) National Centre for Software Technology (NCST) set up in 1985 had also initiated work in Indian Language Computing around the same period.

20 Societal Concerns Kudumbashree - Sreesakthi Portal for Women Empowerment and Integrated Management Information System (MIS) Electronic Personal Safety System (ePSS) for Women Safety - to assist women, children and the elderly in cases of emergency. 3m-Sahayak - an Android based application for real-time assistance in Indian Agricultural and Health sectors. Gestures with Mouse (GEM) - an input mechanism (for GNOME desktop) which uses gestures as input to the system. Gestures can be drawn using a mouse or some equivalent device like touch pad, joystick, pen tablet, etc. Intelligent Advisory System for Farmers (IASF) - a system for automatically answering queries related to farming activities in North-East states.

22 Lesson Learnt The industry visit to C-DAC was informative. Students gained information about the first supercomputer of India – PARAM 8000. The different versions of supercomputers like PARAM PADMA, PARAM YUVA were learnt and also processing speed, memory, operating system and the application of supercomputer.
