D. melanogaster is an effective model for host-microbe interactions
High-throughput, affordable and convenient, less ethical concerns
Genetic knockouts are diverse and widely available

FMTs may be able to treat a variety of conditions, such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, IBS and MS
Which bacteria contribute to the benefits of FMT?
More studies need to take place for health agencies to allow FMTs as treatment for other diseases

Low FODMAP diet is effective at reducing symptoms of IBS
However, gut bifidobacteria and SCFAs are reduced due to limited dietary prebiotics
