Los pronombres To understand the timing and flow of this PowerPoint It is advisable that the instructor view it prior to sharing it with students. Some slides are long and somewhat complex and need to be given time to play out completely.

9 Pronoun: A word that takes the place of a noun.
Examples: Markita is reading the book. She is reading the book. Ahlaya skates well. He skates well. The Vashoh team plays football. They play football.

10 A subject pronoun is a word that functions as the subject of a sentence – thewho or what the sentence is about. Examples: We are going to the beach. On this slide I have chosen to use English examples only simply because I want students to be able to see and understand which word is the subject pronoun. It is an exciting game. They seem to be nice.

Subject pronouns are frequently organized into a wimpy looking chart called a verb tree. (Watch…we’ll draw one.) Why “wimpy”? It’s simply a tag to get the attention of middle school students…and it works. We’ll be back. Keep this blank

¡MUY IMPORTANTE! Spanish has 9 subject pronouns and 3 of them mean in English. YOU Back in the day : ye and thee with 3 words that means YOU, learn them & when they’re used they’re not interchangeable.

1 Three ways to say YOU… here’s number Tú is singular & informal used when speaking to: a friend a family member someone your age or younger anyone you call by their first name. The next three slides are easily adapted if you have your own way of teaching the differences between these three pronouns.

A quick review… Try and remember how the word is used, before the answer appears. means you when you talking to one person, a friend or a family member. Usted means you when talking to an older person you don’t call by their first name. Ustedes Means you when talking to more than one person.

17 FINALLY! Here are the Spanish subject pronouns

¡GRRR! Two things to explain: Girls, in a girls only group = nosotras. If it’s a mixed group – boys & girls use the nosotros form: –os ending. Use ellos – they : all guys Use ellas –they: all girls. both boys and girls : use ellos.
