2 Who is Santiago Calatarva?
Santiago Calatrava “is a Spanish architect, structural engineer, sculptor and painter, particularly known for his bridges supported by single leaning pylons, and his railway stations, stadiums, and museums, whose sculptural forms often resemble living organisms.” His styles are High-tech architecture and contemporary Architecture. Born on July 28, 1951 Education: Polytechnic University of Valencia, University of Valencia, and ETH Zurich.

3 The Turning Torso The Turning Torso built August 27th , 2005
Located in Malmo on the Swedish side of the Oresund strait. 623 ft. tall Highest residential building in the EU. Made of 9 pentagonal segments, each segment is 5 stories tall. top segment is 90 degrees clockwise compared to the bottom segment. First two segments – office space Segments 3-9 offer 147 luxury apartments.

413ft long, 26ft wide, 19ft tall Located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada Hovers over the Bow River Its shape is defined by a helix developed over an oval cross section Openings on top are filled in with glazed leaves to offer protection from poor weather conditions

5 Olympic Sports Complex, Athens
Completed August 13, 2004 Located in Athens, Greece Comprised of 199,000 square meters of plazas Has 94,000 square meters of pedestrian walkways and 61,000 square meters of green area Contains 160,000 shrubs After it was used for the Olympics, the building was abandon.

6 Awards Santiago Calatrava was awarded many awards throughout his Architectural career. One to many to type up but here's a few.
