Alcohol is the most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States.
It is responsible for more than 4,700 annual deaths among underage youth.
In 2010, there were approximately 189,000 emergency rooms visits by persons under age 21 for injuries and other conditions linked to alcohol.

6. Youth Awareness
Look out for your friends. Don’t be afraid to reach out to their parents or a trusted adult if you sense a problem is beginning to develop.
Don’t be a “yes man.” It is Ok to disagree with your friends. Speak up for yourself.
Real friends won’t push you if you stand up for yourself early in the situation.
They most likely will be too hung over to remember you telling them off, anyway.

7. The Problem Within The Problem
When young people drink, they drink a lot at one time. Teens drink less often than adults. But when teens do drink, they drink more than adults.
On average, young people have about 5 drinks on a single occasion. This is called binge drinking, a very dangerous way of drinking that can lead to serious problems and even death.

80% of teenage pregnancies are conceived while the mother to be is under the influence.
