Solar System Ambassador Lynn van Rooijen-McCollough, an American living in the Netherlands, has dedicated much of her volunteer time to serving the children of US citizens living abroad Seen in these photos taken during her March 23 visit to the International School of Amsterdam, van Rooijen-McCullough spoke to 70 students and teachers from four second-grade classes about NASA’s exploration of the solar system and the universe Says van Rooijen-McCullough of the students, “These are not the average second graders, since they often include astronauts' and American (and other nations') ambassador's children” Additionally, van Rooijen-McCullough visits schools in underprivileged areas of the Netherlands, where students are first or second-generation immigrants from the Caribbean, Africa and Turkey, who do not normally have access to these types of programs
