Anxiety Disorders Excessive fear and related behavioral disturbances
Fear - emotional response to real or perceived imminent threat Fear, autonomic arousal, fight or flight Anxiety - anticipation of future threat Anxiety, muscle tension, vigilance in preparation for danger, cautious/avoidant

Disorder vs. Fear Differ by being excessive or persisting beyond developmentally appropriate periods Typically overestimate the danger in situations they fear or avoid Develop in childhood and tend to persist if not treated Approx. 2:1 ratio
