What to do – if you updated to version 5.33 after 8/15 and are running 32-bit version of Windows
Delete and install the latest version of Ccleaner, 5.35 or later. This will replace the infected executables.
Run a complete virus and malware scan or roll back (restore) to a pre-8/15 version of your system.
To see if it has been on your system, open Registry Editor, navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Piriform and see if there is a key labeled Agomo:MUID .

What I did
Opened Ccleaner and was prompted to update, which I did. Later deleted and reinstalled it.
Ran a Norton complete scan, it found js.downloader, status “critical”. Norton said it was fully resolved.
Ran Malwarebytes Antimalware, it identified 3 threats, which I quarantined & deleted:
Trojan.Floxif in C:\Downloads\ccsetup533.exe
Pup.Optional.SlimCleanerPlus, registry key & file
Reran Norton and MBAM – nothing found.

Keep virus protection up-to-date. Avira still supports XP (as of 2016).
Disconnect from internet when you don’t need it; use Comodo Free Firewall when you do.

A homegroup is a group of PCs on a home network that can share files and PC-connected printers and stream media to devices like TVs & game consoles.
It is protected with a password.
You can have only one homegroup per network. One PC creates the homegroup; the others join it.
You can select which libraries and devices to share. Default access is view only, but you can allow view and edit.

By default, it will back up Documents, Pictures, Desktop, Downloads, OneDrive, Music and Video folders, but you can add add or exclude folders.
Back up to an external drive or network drive.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Backup, and under “Backup using file history”, select “Add a drive”, and select your drive. This will turn on “Automatically back up my files”.
Select “More options” to configure.

For how long – default is forever, but choices range from 1 month to 2 years or when space is needed.
