THE PRIMARY PURPOSES OF DECON ARE TO STOP EROSION OF COMBAT POWER AND REDUCE CASUALTIES THAT MAY RESULT FROM INADVERTENT EXPOSURE OF FAILURE OF PROTECTION. DECON IS COSTLY IN TERMS OF MANPOWER, TIME, SPACE, AND MATERIAL.
