Data deluge and regulatory compliance
Talk about the EU requirements for TSO/DSO’s to share data. Need more information. Still reading through the 80-page report. Then transition to the data deluge & how you extract “gold”. Title or Job Number | XX Month 201X

Data deluge and the value it holds
We are living in an era that collects more data daily than it collected over millennia combined. We are more informed than any other human that lived before us. But are we wiser? Data and information by themselves don’t equate automatically with knowledge. Yes, we have terabytes of data but is it of any use? How can we take only the pertinent data and transform it into knowledge? Actionable knowledge. And how we can we can use that knowledge to make better decisions, improve efficiency, guarantee and increase reliability, and push the system to reliable but stretched limits, while keeping it secure from cyber attacks? These are few of the questions I want to address today.

Transforming Industrial Operations
Asset Performance Management Operations Optimization Digital Twin/ Digital Thread Maximize performance and asset availability Increase system efficiency across operations Optimize lifecycle of design, manufacturing, service, & repair cycles The goal for many of the customers we work with today is to put together a strategy that leverages the potential of these new technologies to transform their operations, they way they service their customers, and ultimately their business performance. Industrial IoT enables organizations to create real value through improved operational performance and efficiency. It also enables new revenue streams by making it possible to understand and serve customers with new information-based services. Improved operational performance and efficiency Continuous innovation and faster time to market Creating New Value New customer services and business models 1 2 3

Harnessing knowledge from WAMS
Here is one example on how to leverage the Predix platform to harness the vast amounts of data coming from PMU’s and how we are extracting actionable knowledge out of it. Title or Job Number | XX Month 201X

Why WAMS Predix Cloud Solutions?
Ground (Classic) WAMS Predix Cloud WAMS System is utility’s own responsibility Capital cost & staffing Known communications performance Inside internal security perimeter Mainly own-organization view Admin overhead per external data stream Raw data shared, not common view Data analysis Mainly real-time analytics (stored for post event) Resources allocated at design stage Logistics of custom analysis difficult Applications Mainly vendor; 3rd party not easily integrated Services run by GE Reduced capital & maintenance burden Encrypted traffic over internet Security managed by cloud provider Sharing inter-organisation sources Ease of managing multiple sources Controlled shared & exclusive views Big data analytics Real-time & retrospective analytics Large elastic processing & storage resources Data easily available to designated experts Flexible application development Vendor/in-house/partner as needed Please talk to Douglas Wilson about this. I am not much of help – I just stole the slides.
