A. The hero is of national or international importance – of high social position – a king or prince.

3 B. The setting is vast: many locations- world, universe.
C. The action involves the deeds of super human courage. D. Supernatural forces are involved and play an important role in the plot.

4 E. The poet uses elevated style- the language is formal and grand.
F. It is a long, narrative poem.

5 Qualities of an Epic hero
Importance is of national or international importance. He is a character from history or legend. The hero’s most remarkable traits are those valued by the society he represents. 1.Loyalty 2. Compassion 3. Perseverance 4. Intelligence 5. Courage 6.Physical strength
